Being invited to photograph a wedding is an honour and privilege – as a photographer it’s a joy to observe and record the love between the couple and also the outpouring of love from guests toward them. So much care and creativity goes in to planning all the details of a wedding and it may be the one day that all of your friends and family are gathered together. The day can fly by and so choosing a photographer that suits your style to make the photographs you will look back on for years to come is really important.
I take a reportage / documentary approach, where I aim to reflect the personalities, individuality and interactions of the couple with each other and their loved ones, in an observational and unobtrusive way. There is always a lot of love in the room and I really enjoy doing informal portraits of the joy-filled faces of the guests too!
I also recommend taking a little time out between the ceremony and reception to do some couple portraits, making use of the location as a backdrop. These tend to be a mixture of both natural interactions and slightly more styled poses – I can adapt to whatever you’re comfortable with. I shoot a lot of portraits and fashion editorial work, so bring this element to my weddings work, alongside my documentary practice.
If you choose me to be your photographer, I will sensitively document your unique relationship, the intimacy of the ceremony and special moments between the two of you.
‘Really and truly your photographs are something else. They remind you of all the beauty and incredible moments that life holds. To be treasured.’
